When I tell people I am in Dance Marathon, there are times when they have no idea what I am talking about. I can say this is what I thought freshman year at Iowa. I literally thought it was a Dance Marathon. Such as, we danced as a marathon—which it partially true, but as we all know there is so much more to it.
When you’re talking to older folks, such as your grandparents, there is a chance they may think it’s this:
Yes, there were actual Dance Marathons where people would dance for months… for a prize! We dance for a prize too—A CURE FOR CANCER!
Maybe someone may envision something like a scene from Another Cinderella Story?
So, there will probably be some dance-offs, but they’re all out of fun and are friendly!
Perhaps, they think about all of us students taking over the IMU Breakfast Club Style?
Again, partially true… we do take it over, but it’s all with good intentions.
