Next Monday, September 22, kicks off a week of activities to celebrate those who have signed up for Dance Marathon, to spread lime throughout Iowa City and to encourage others to see what DM is all about and register as well. Lime Days are a great way to learn more about Dance Marathon and to get excited for the next four and a half months leading up to the Big Event.
Each day of the week provides a new way to engage with DM. From interactive displays to free DM swag to FTK Day, Lime Days has everything lime and everything Dance Marathon. Check out the list of activities happening around campus to see how you can get involved.
Monday: Head to the Clinton side of the Pentacrest between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm to see an interactive display about Dance Marathon. Take a few minutes out of your day to learn about cancer as well as DM.
Tuesday: Dance Marathon has partnered with CAB to bring you a free documentary. The show, Legends of the Knight, will start at 8:00 pm in W151 of the PBB. To see a trailer of this documentary, follow this link. This is a great opportunity to take time out of your studies to do something fun with your friends. Best of all it’s free. So grab a friend and head on over to the business building to see a great documentary.
Wednesday: Lime Time Wednesday is something you will see all year long, and next week is no different. Next Wednesday we want to thank everyone who has already signed up for DM by handing out a free piece of DM merchandise. You’ll be able to get your free piece of merchandise on the Pentacrest from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. If you haven’t signed up, feel free to stop by the Pentacrest and do that as well. Also, keep your eyes peeled for some extra lime on the Pentacrest for Lime Time Wednesday!
Thursday: September 25 is National Dance Marathon Day, so celebrate in style by purchasing DM merchandise. There will be a flash sale of discounted DM products from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in the T. Anne Cleary Walkway. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get some fantastic lime gear!
Friday: The final weekday of Lime Days is a community day at Running Wild. Community Days are a great way to support Dance Marathon by making purchases at local businesses. Stop by Running Wild to get everything you need for the Sunday FTK 5K.
Saturday: The Community Day at Running Wild continues through Saturday, so feel free to stop by either day. Also, Sodafest, part of Northside Oktoberfest, is taking place on Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Come out and enjoy quality time with other DM members, a Mini Dance Marathon with DJ Juan at 11:30, and of course, a wide variety of sodas. To see a schedule of events and learn more about Sodafest, follow this link.
Sunday: Limes Days wraps up with FTK Day in Lower City Park on Sunday. The day begins at 10:00 am with a FTK 5K and ends with a family picnic. This is an opportunity to interact with the families we work to support all year long. This day appropriately brings the focus back to the most important part of Dance Marathon, the families. Follow this link to take part in this fun-filled day and meet the DM kiddos and families.
Whether you like documentaries, DM merchandise or anything in between, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved during Lime Days. So bring your friends, spread your lime and get excited about UIDM21!
